WHAT WE DO
At GSN, we specialize in propagating CA natives, drought tolerant plant species and varieties, and still graft varieties of olives and magnolias. We focus our efforts on difficult to propagate plants, like arctostaphylos, leucadendron, protea, and leucospermom, as well as patented plants that are new to the market.
We currently make weekly deliveries throughout the state of California. Our availability goes out every two weeks.
About GSN
Gerd K. Schneider was born and raised in Germany. His education spanned institutions and work experience through Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland.
In the early 1950s, he emigrated to the United States to work for the Saratoga Horticultural Research Foundation. In 1967, he founded Gerd Schneider Nursery.
He specialized in grafting and propagating trees and shrubs for wholesale nurseries throughout the state. Gerd loved what he did and worked until his passing in 2015.
In 2021, Manuel Morales bought Gerd Schneider Nursery. Manuel has been in the nursery business since 1971, where he initially met Gerd. Over the next 44 years, Gerd and Manuel not only worked together, but Gerd often spent holidays with Manuel’s family.
Today, Manuel leads a talented team of workers and propagators that strive to honor Gerd’s legacy, while also addressing contemporary concerns, like the need for drought tolerant plants.
